A message from Donna

Rooted in Barrhaven West. Ready to deliver.

It has truly been an honour to represent the people of Barrhaven West at the Ottawa-Carleton District School Board for the last 16 years. I now want to take that experience, the skills I have developed, and my passion for advocating for the people of Barrhaven West to City Hall.

I have a proven track record of getting things done for our schools in Barrhaven, and I will replicate that at City Hall.

"We are at a crossroads in this city. The status quo is not working."

Why I'm running

I am keenly aware of the need to address ward issues while making decisions at the council table with the long view in mind — making sure each choice positions the city well for long-term success.

We are seeing, regularly, the negative and costly consequences of not investing in maintaining and upgrading our infrastructure. Poor planning — where houses go up quickly without the surrounding infrastructure to support them — has negatively impacted the quality of life in Barrhaven West.

We also need to invest more in police services in Barrhaven West. For too many, a stop sign has become a suggestion — and that needs to change, with stricter enforcement.

I look forward to working with all of you to improve the lives of everyone in Barrhaven West.

Six priorities for Barrhaven

The issues Barrhaven residents and candidates have raised across the ward — turned into a clear, practical agenda for the council term.

Transit that reaches Barrhaven

Fight for a real plan on LRT Phase 3 and better OC Transpo service now — not promises that slip another decade.

Roads & infrastructure

Keep streets, sidewalks and pathways in good repair, and make sure infrastructure keeps pace with new development.

Safer streets

Tackle speeding on main roads, protect school zones, and push for the traffic-calming and enforcement residents keep asking for.

Community & recreation

Champion recreation facilities, parks and green space so families have places to gather as the ward grows.

Responsible taxes

Demand value for every dollar — disciplined budgets and clear priorities instead of surprises on the tax bill.

Smart growth

Plan development so amenities, schools and services arrive with the housing — not years behind it.

"For too many, a stop sign has become a suggestion. That needs to change — with stricter enforcement."
